I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!
Okay, so it's not a matter of grave importance, but, still, my backyard needs desperate help. Where oh where did I put my gardening tools? I know they're here somewhere. Hmmm! Could that rusted pile of desreputable-looking items in the garage really be the clean, sharp tools I used last summer?
I guess you're getting the picture here. I ignored my plants during the winter months. No excuse, because I live in So. California. The weather is always nice, right? The real reason is not weather, though. I don't have a green thumb, so take any opportunity I can find to NOT work in the yard. Especially since our backyard is so big!
But, alas, it must be done. Wish me luck. I'm heading off to Home Depot for those climbing roses I want to plant at the base of my trellis arches. Just think how pretty they'll look. And, is this the year I'll actually plant the avocado tree I've been talking about?
Don't even get me started on the apple tree! My darling husband decided one day to "cut it back" when I wasn't home. That tree is the most pitiful looking thing I've ever seen. It must be embarrassed to be seen by the plum, apricot, tangerine, tangelo, and orange trees! I'm seriously thinking it needs to go. Maybe that's where I'll plant the avocado tree.
I think I'm getting excited about the prospect of facing the backyard now. Wish me luck! I'm going in....
