All about "Me"

Hi friends,

I'm fairly new to blogging, but to get started, here's my "me" story, so called because it's all about me. I'll keep it brief to ward off the yawns of ennui.

I am an author of Contemporary Western Romances. My first book, Heart of Stone, will be released in 2008 through The Wild Rose Press. Heart of Stone confronts the issue of the date-rape drug, an ensuing pregnancy, and the romance of Amber and Stone. This is the very first book I ever wrote, and I'm proud to say it won first place in the Fort Bend Writer's Guild contest. I am currently working on a sequel to Heart of Stone, called Cady's Chance, which I hope to sell to The Wild Rose Press.

I began writing after suffering 3 brain aneurysms. Having trouble finding the correct words in my surgically-scarred brain, I got out the dictionary and thesaurus, and began. My first endeavor, co-written with a friend, was bad--very, very bad. But we laughed hysterically while writing it.

I took classes, joined the Orange County Chapter of Romance Writers of America, learned the art of plotting, dialog and characterization, and wrote Heart of Stone.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and owner of three pets--2 cats and a "yappy" Pomeranian. I'm thrilled to be starting a new career at this stage of my life. A career full of ups and downs, rejection and acceptance, thrills and chills, but most of all, excitement and fun. I would advise everyone to follow your dreams and never give up.
